Ramblers 75th

Welcome to the Ramblers Baton Walks. As part of the celebrations for the Ramblers 75th Anniversary, we are holding a series of walks around the country for you to take part in!

The baton walk was started in South West England in December 2009; it has travelled through Wales and Scotland and reached the South East of England in October 2010.

Despite an extremely wet day - 3 inches of rain over 24 hours, everyone looked cheerful despite the dreadful weather. We had an anniversary cake with coffee and our High Sheriff, Peter Kingston cut the cake.  We had our own carved baton made by a local craftsman.  We had placed an Anniversary gate at this spot using a legacy fund from Doris Trappitt.  The walk proceeded along the coast and then through Chale.
