Thursday 27th July Walk from Hurst Castle to Keyhaven and Lymington

Arrive at Yarmouth Quay (where Wightlink departs) at 11 15am. Ferry cost, payable on the day, is £6.50. The local ferry departs at 11 30am and takes us to Hurst Castle. This was one of the most advanced of Henry V111 artillery fortresses. It was also used as a prison for Charles 1.  

Join the 7 mile walk along the spit and marshes to Keyhaven for a stop and picnic lunch. Toilets are available here. The walk continues to Lymington, returning on the Puffin ferry from Lymington Quay to Yarmouth.  

If members prefer not to walk, they could stay and visit Hurst Castle. Non members of English Heritage are charged £4.50 (concessions). There is a return ferry which arrives in Yarmouth at 2.30pm.There is also a café available at the castle.

Saturday 26th August The Annual Summer Barbecue

The annual barbecue will be held at the Shanklin Rowing Club at 4pm.
There will also be a short walk quiz, and table quizzes.

Burgers and sausages are purchased locally and will be cooked at 6pm, along with salads and desserts. There will be a Ramblers Raffle.
